"Yes, I was there when the Fab Four hit The Toon.

January 28, 1963, the Majestic Ballroom, Newcastle. I think this was a Monday night, with admission at the door 3/6d old money per person.

I travelled from Sacriston, in County Durham, with a friend and joined the queue along Clayton Street with hundreds of others and you just had this feeling something was different. When the music started the dancing stopped as everyone moved towards the stage to listen. That night changed my choice of music.
